HERE'S AN INTRODUCTION!
So you've bought a T2 steering unit from Thrustmaster. You've bought a great unit, with a lot of potential! But to be able to think of your unit as a really very great steering console, you will have to unleash this great potential! Following the steps in this guide will get your T2 on par with the most expensive steering units on the market (now that's a lot of potential!).
To make sure you don't have to pay $350+ for a steering device,
Thrustmaster has decided to produce the T2 pretty cheap. That's nice,
because you don't have to pay like hell. The problem is, well, the El
Cheapo thing. Your steering wheel creaks a lot
when you turn it around. The springs in the pedals break every once in a while. The
shifter is badly designed (it destroys itself if you've got bad luck!), and there aren't any
shifterbuttons on the wheel itself. Not to forget: the wheel gets loose after a
while, so it 'clicks' in the middle when you turn it. And there are
other difficulties that need fixing too!
Let's deal with these problems one at a time. After doing that,
you will see that you were very smart to buy the great T2 from
Thrustmaster!
Many solutions listed on this page are very simple, but all of them are truly effective (if not: please tell me!).
BTW: I will not accept responsibility for *any* damage! If you don't know how to handle a soldering bolt or a pair of scissors for example, that's your problem, not mine!
BTW 2: If there is anything, *anything*, that is not clear, please e-mail me and I will
explain! The info on this page should be as clear as possible, so if it isn't, that's my fault
and I do want to rectify it!
