WHAT'S THAT NOISE WHEN I STEER SHARP?
When you turn the wheel more than about 90 degrees, you'll hear a scratching
noise inside of the steering unit. This noise is not healthy: it's killing your bungee cord.
When you open the case, you'll notice a plastic triangle that's connected to the steering cylinder.
When you turn the wheel, this triangle will turn and stretch the bungee cord. The problem
is however, that the lowest corner of the triangle will move over the bungee. This corner has
a ragged edge, so when it makes contact to the bungee it will cause noise and at the same time
wear out the bungee much faster.
To fix this problem, you'll need a bit of isolation tape (stretchable, usually black tape).
Circle this tape around the lower corner, paying close attention that the edges are covered *and*
there are no loose pieces of the tape making noise when turning the wheel.
Close the box again and the noise will be gone.
